Voice-overs with subtitles (+Multi-language support)įPS Movement and interaction: Using UFPS at the moment but am still ironing out movement issues, namely with Step Offset jittering. Recreate the Soundscape system in Source (Done using the excellent Sound Manager Pro Plugin) Workaround for lack of max fog opacity control (I always had fog_maxdensity set to 0.9 in Source so it never becomes a solid wall of colour – still trying to work this one out for Unity though) Solving a lack of 3D Skybox in Unity (I ended up scaling the skybox models up to match the scale set in Source – not the most efficient way to do it I know, but I’m working on that!) was more guesswork, and I still haven’t found an exact formula for it). Recreate lighting (again stuff like light strength, falloff, etc. It wasn’t a completely straight forward process of just importing assets though, and I still had to do the following:Ĭreate lightmap UV’s for all of my models, since Unity doesn’t support vertex lightingĬonvert everything between Source’s units of measurement and Unity’s (Source=inches, Unity=meters, although Source seems to have some crazy voodoo measurements going on some of the time). After generously letting me into the alpha testing team, I got stuck in. The design will be instantly familiar to anyone like myself who has tinkered with UDK’s shader editor, and seemed like the last piece of the puzzle I needed to get started on bringing in content to Unity. He was working on a very early version of node-based shader editor for Unity called Shader Forge. Later, whilst venting my frustrations over twitter, a very kind person directed me to a recent post on Polycount by a guy called Joachim Holmér. Initially I tried Strumpy’s Shader Editor, but it was very unfamiliar and horribly broken for the most part. I had a strong idea of how they could be recreated, but being a useless coder I was kind of at an impasse. Shader ForgeĪlthough most of Source’s shaders aren’t the most sophisticated, they have a very distinct look to them which isn’t reproducible with the basic set of shaders that come with Unity. The final result was an exact replica of my levels inside Max, all ready for exporting!Īfter that I had only one roadblock remaining: Shaders. I decided to contact Shawn and see if he’d be interested in finishing up the importer if I commissioned him for his time, and fortunately he was more than happy to help, actually taking it far beyond my original expectations: The Final VMF Importer not only had the ability to import brushes and displacements, but absolutely everything, from the models and textures, to triggers and entities. It was, however, mostly unfinished and had a lot of issues that needed addressing before it could be useful. Included in the toolset was a early VMF importer which looked very promising. He’d made a bunch of nifty tools for designing maps and compiling models directly in 3DS Max, which could be exported straight into hammer (Man how I wish I’d had these 5 years ago!). It was only after searching for “VMF tools” that I stumbled across something very promising: A free set of scripts for 3DS Max called the Wall Worm Model Tools by Shawn Olson. Hammer has a internal DXF exporter but it is horrid, and externally, all I could find were a couple of really old tools, the best of which was Nem’s Crafty but unfortunately it didn’t export full displacement data such as vertex alpha, which is vital to get blend textures working. So I started searching to see if there was any way to convert BSPs into some kind of readable format for 3DS Max. I had the source files for models and textures, but the biggest problem was extracting content created within the Source Engine itself: stuff like the brushes and displacements which the environments are heavily made up of and which are only stored in Source’s VMF and BSP formats. The biggest obstacle I faced was how to get all of the content out of the Source Engine and over to Unity. Overall, I’d estimate Dear Esther to be 10% gameplay code and 90% content, so starting out, my number 1 priority was to get the content into Unity. So I thought I’d do a follow-up to my previous post on the Dear Esther Unity port with a little more detail for those of you who are curious about exactly how I managed it and some of the tools I used: Content I just picked my car up yesterday ( April 20, 2022.) So far so good. Took my 2021 escape hybrid se to dealership on Februas stated above. Ford has problems and they had better step up to the plate and correct these problems! In a few days my hybrid will be in the shop for a month. The next day same problem again! Took back to dealership on February 28, 2022. Updated all module that had updates, cleared code, retest, passed and test drove. Ran self test, passed but light stayed on. They had inspected the intake, throttle body, cleaned MAPT sensor, reprogrammed PCM, reprogrammed BECM, SOBDMC and ABS. They took my car and gave me a 2021 eco sport to drive.Ī few days later they called to advise my car was done. I promptly left the service area and found the dealership manager. The service folks were swamped and offered an appointment in two weeks. After several starts and stops I drove straight to my local ford dealership. The stop safely now red display would appear and car would lose power. The gas engine would start to vibrate when it first started. The car ran flawlessly til February 25, 2022. I purchased a 2021 Escape hybrid se on 9/7/21. I certainly won’t be buying future new copies. Now I have the perfect fire place starters using your magazines. With your poor product recommendations I’ve decided it’s a waste of time even considering your reviews. My 2017 Escape Titanium has been trouble free with the exception of the infotainment center issue that was repaired in 24-hours. The Mach E is newer and driven by my daughter in law to and from work to carry my grandkids for shopping and school functions. He traded his Ram pickup and loves driving his ST. My son’s Explorer ST and Mach E are two great vehicles with the ST being the family trip SUV with higher than average miles for a nearly 2 years old vehicle. My wife’s 2017 Edge Sport is comfortable, roomy, great performance and my wife loves her Edge with 40,000 miles. I have never used their recommendations for buying any product. It seems like Consumer reports has an issue with all the Ford products excluding the Edge. We’ll have more on the Escape soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Escape news and continuous Ford news coverage. Throw in the Escape’s below-average predicted reliability, and it’s clear that CR isn’t a fan of the popular crossover, even though quite a few consumers are. However, it found the front seats to be a bit flat and uncomfortable. On the inside, Consumer Reports notes that the 2021 Escape’s controls are easy to use and that the rear seat is roomy when it’s pushed all the way back. In the handling department, the 2021 Escape is “nimble and secure,” but CR finds ride quality to be a bit subpar thanks to an “underlying firmness.” Braking is apparently a chore, as the pedal is a bit sensitive to input, making smooth stops a challenge. Some of those complaints boil down to the performance of Ford’s 1.5L EcoBoost powerplant, which has plenty of power and returned a good 26 miles-per-gallon overall but is plagued by “an annoying vibration at low engine speeds,” according to Consumer Reports. It cites a number of reasons for placing the Escape on this not so prestigious list, including the fact that it “lacks the fundamentals to compete with the best small SUVs.” Now, Consumer Reports is also recommending that shoppers avoid the 2021 Ford Escape, too.ĬR put the 2021 Ford Escape on its list of popular cars to avoid list as a vehicle that sells well but doesn’t score near the top of the organization’s own rankings. However, CR members haven’t shown the same appreciation for the Ford EcoSport, while the consumer organization itself recently placed the 2021 Ford Explorer on its list of two- and three-row SUVs to avoid. In recent months, Consumer Reports has gushed over the Ford Edge, naming it one of the most reliable mid-size crossovers on the market and one of the best and most affordable used vehicles for teenagers, a top SUV available for less than $40,000, one of the best mid-size crossovers with standard safety features for under $35k, and a top 10 best SUV on sale today. Harrison transferred to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1850, and graduated in 1852. He attended the college for two years and while there met his future wife, Caroline "Carrie" Lavinia Scott, a daughter of John Witherspoon Scott, the school's science professor, who was also a Presbyterian minister. His paternal ancestors were the Harrison family of Virginia, whose immigrant ancestor, Benjamin Harrison, arrived in Jamestown, Virginia, circa 1630 from England. In 1899 he represented Venezuela in its British Guiana boundary dispute with the United Kingdom. He returned to private life and his law practice in Indianapolis. Cleveland defeated Harrison for reelection in 1892, due to the growing unpopularity of high tariffs and high federal spending. The spending issue in part led to the defeat of the Republicans in the 1890 midterm elections. In addition, Harrison substantially strengthened and modernized the U.S. During his administration six western states were admitted to the Union. Harrison also facilitated the creation of the national forest reserves through an amendment to the Land Revision Act of 1891. Hallmarks of Harrison's administration included unprecedented economic legislation, including the McKinley Tariff, which imposed historic protective trade rates, and the Sherman Antitrust Act. The Indiana General Assembly elected Harrison to a six-year term in the Senate, where he served from 1881 to 1887.Ī Republican, Harrison was elected to the presidency in 1888, defeating the Democratic incumbent Grover Cleveland in the Electoral College despite losing the popular vote. He was a grandson of the ninth president, William Henry Harrison, and a great-grandson of Benjamin Harrison V, a founding father who signed the United States Declaration of Independence. Both pickups are the original Patent Number humbuckers. Both tone capacitors are ceramic types and they’re wired to the inputs rather than the outputs of the volume pots. This guitar predates brass cavity linings and if you look closely you can see that a shaving was chiselled out to get the pickup switch to fit. Having said this, there are a lot worse guitars out there, and as well as being historically important, the 1820 bass can certainly provide the goods when required. There are no concerns in the control cavity because everything appears just as it did when it left the factory. Over the course of the 70s, the Japanese output improved dramatically, and in many ways these early 70s models are a low point for the brand. These new Epiphones were based on existing Matsumoku guitars, sharing body shapes, and hardware, but the Epiphone line was somewhat upgraded, with inlaid logos and a 2x2 peghead configuration. The Matsumoku factory had been producing guitars for export for some time, but the 1820 bass (alongside a number of guitar models and the 5120 electric acoustic bass) were the first Epiphone models to be made there. SG Custom catalog appearancesīy the end of the 1960s, a decision had been made to move Epiphone guitar production from the USA (at the Kalamazoo plant where Gibson guitars were made), to Matsumoto in Japan, creating a line of guitars and basses significantly less expensive than the USA-built models (actually less than half the price). As always with Gibson, there are exceptions - even when not listed, Cherry seems to have been available. Despite these other colour options, the majority of 60s SG Customs are finished White, and the majority of 60s Customs are finished Walnut. The last price-list of the 1970s saw just White and Walnut available, before the SG Custom was discontinued in the 1980s. This was replaced by Cherry for a short time, with Tobacco Sunburst also very briefly listed. This continued until 1975 when both Walnut and White were offered, with Wine Red being added briefly in the June '75 price list. The September 1969 price list is the first to list Walnut as the stock finish. But by the end of the decade, White was dropped in favour of Walnut. The gold hardware stood out against the white body giving this guitar a very flashy appearance. Initially, Gibson only listed white as a finish for the SG Custom, and it is this colour that is most associated with this guitar. It did continue in numerous other Gibsons throughout the 1970s. It was not popular on high end instruments, and was dropped in the SG Custom within a year. This attempt to reduce production costs was being introduced in numerous Gibson solid-body models - it was a time of real crisis for the American guitar industry, with heavy competition from cheaper overseas imports. One big change occurred around 1971/72, when the controls started to be mounted on a semi-circular control plate, rather than (via a back cavity) through the body wood itself (See the 1972 Gibson Solid Bodies catalogue). As the decade wore on, it became very much the Bigsby that was the option. From June 1973, Gibson started advertising the SG Custom with a Bigsby vibrato, or an optional stop tailpiece. Several different versions were used, early examples are fitted with Gibson 'side to side' vibrato, or inlaid ebony block vibrato, followed by the Gibson deluxe (lyre) vibrato, which is probably the best known. The part that changed most noticeably in this model is the tailpiece. See the 1972 Gibson Solid Bodies catalogue SG Custom hardware and componentsĮach of the three humbucking pickups were identical: neck, middle and bridge, and they were the same pickups as used in the SG Standard, ES-175D and numerous other Gibson guitars, though with gold-plated covers. The 1972 Gibson SG Custom was quite different from earlier and later versions. This selected front pickup only, middle and back pickups together, or the back pickup only. Just like the other Gibson SG models, the Custom had two volume and tone controls, and a three way switch. Famous users include: Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Ollie Halsall, Lenny Kravitz and Sister Rosetta Tharpe - all of whom played white SG Customs. There were some cosmetic changes over the years, but little that stops this guitar from being one of Gibsons most recognizable models. 6346 SG Customs were produced between 19, after which it was dropped from the Gibson price lists and catalogues. Like the other SGs it was mahogany throughout with a set neck. It was initially a redesigned Les Paul Custom, and was named as such initially. It had the high-end split-diamond headstock inlay, and mother of pearl block fingerboard markers in an ebony fretboard. The Gibson SG Custom was the top of the Gibson SG range: three Gibson humbuckers, and gold-plated throughout. Finishes Cherry, White, Walnut, Wine Red, Tobacco Sunburst stands for Point Of Balance, this is measured in inches from the hilt down the blade. The vast majority of our customers are happy with the results of the service, so as long as you keep the above mentioned in mind, we are confident you will be pleased with the results as well. This does not apply to special sharpening requests, for example if we sharpen something specially for you that does not normally list that option on our site. That being said, if you are unhappy with the product for any reason, we do still allow you to return the item for a full refund, including the sharpening costs under our normal return policy. We can not provide any refunds for the service once it has been completed, so consider it to be provided “as is”. All we can say for sure is that the resulting edge will be sharper than the default edge, in most cases, significantly so. Some customers can also have incorrect assumptions about sword sharpness and improper expectations as a result. Every blade is different and some will take and hold a sharper edge than others, due to the blade material, heat treatment or geometry. We make no guarantee that the resulting edge will meet with your expectations. We do not offer this type of service at this time. A service of that nature would be significantly more expensive as a great deal more time would be required. To create that type of edge will necessarily scratch up the blade surface and we lack the machinery and time to provide a full re-polishing of a blade’s surface. The service will not provide a completely bevel-less edge. In other words, we intend to provide you with a serviceable weapon, not a personal grooming implement. Our goal is to provide you with a usable edge for cutting practice that will hold up to some use and not require constant re-sharpening. The resulting edge will be “sword sharp” not razor sharp. Our sword sharpening expert has personally sharpened several thousand swords at this point, so will provide you with a professional service. We can sharpen only the last half or third of an edge, for example. If you have a different preference, feel free to make that request in the special instructions at check out. By default we will sharpen as much of the blade as possible including any false edges if appropriate. The blades are rested between passes to prevent them from becoming hot and damaging their temper. The process involves many passes with sanding belts of various grits. The sharpening service is done with a belt sander. We adjust the angle of the edge to suit the specific blade and attempt to get as close to a bevel-less edge as possible without marring the surface of the blade. Some blades will take and hold sharper edges than others and the thickness of the blade will determine how wide the bevel will need to be. The resulting edge is somewhat dependent on the particular blade. The result is typically “very sharp” with a small secondary bevel and a bit of an “apple seed” profile. Our sharpening service will provide a good serviceable edge on the blade. I wrote to the support of google for the refund but they told me that I should contact adobe and send me an email address of Adobe support. I bought Touch for 9.99 USD and touch for phone for 4.99 USD. If I'm more able to download the app, I would then a refund. Now, I'm about to hit Rihanna, Adobe "better have my money" "pay me what you owe me". now I have to scratch my head as to where my PhotoShop Touch app is. (Where I'm going with this?) without worrying. Your telling me you wouldn't be angry? You have probably saved just to buy these shoes, or you have probably still were waiting in line for these shoes. Example: If you purchase a pair of popular Jordan at Footlocker and after some time, Michael Jordan (the legend himself) arrives and literally tear them your feet and (poof) disappears into the air. This is at least a couple of gallons in my gas tank (you know, gas is not cheap, especially in San Jose, CA) from my understanding when you buy something, which is yours. But I trust and feel comfortable with the app of the PS fast-forward some time and now I feel like I've been robbed of $10. before you buy Photoshop touch, I could have easily had a different route. 1, I use an Instagram account, I need the photos to the height of the paragraph without Photoshop (which I paid for) how I'll be able to do? and this is the thing about. I have searched for it permanently, because I needed to use the application for many reasons. I was still able to recover the old apps purchased, with the exception that one alone. Now this scares me because I thought I'd lost all previous applications that I had paid for. I then took it to an Apple Store where I had to reboot the iPad everything and start from scratch. During a software update for my iPad, it froze completely (the iPad) and could not access my camera. I used very often (if not daily) and was very pleased with my purchase and no complaints. (Not sure how it was) but I pay the application infact. I bought the app via iPad for about $10 or more. Pricing in the European Union, Norway and Switzerland includes tax. From my understanding, Adobe stopped Adobe PhotoShop Touch. “There is little prospect for supply keeping up with that demand growth over the coming several years,” says Fine.Ĭopper prices saw an impressive jump in prices from intraday lows just below $2 a pound on Comex in April 2020 to highs above $5 in March of this year. He says he would not emphasize what’s happened over the last couple of years, or in 2022-and instead points out that global copper consumption continues to rise, and has grown by more than 3% a year for the last 120 years, on average. Still, it’s reasonable to see that as a “temporary phenomenon.” Recessionary worries have taken hold this year, as “strict lockdowns in China and the potential impact on economic activity by the largest consumer of copper” exacerbate traders’ eagerness to “de-risk,” Fine says, as they avoid exposure to the industrial metal, which could see demand decline. That, combined with the realization that “renewable energy technology is extremely copper intensive, conspired to push prices upward.” Still, the metal had seen strong price increases in both 20, with global supplies of copper “very challenged,” while demand continued to grow, says Matthew Fine, portfolio manager of the Third Avenue Value Strategy portfolios. The copper market is also attuned to the Federal Reserve interest-rate hikes, rising inventories, and the “specter” of recession, says Drury. “This tempering has mitigated the perceived need for massive new supplies of copper in the years ahead,” contributing to copper’s recent decline. The disruption in the energy markets due to the war in Ukraine has “reprioritized matters,” away from a focus on copper’s role in greener technologies and climate commitment, as policy makers scramble to have energy needs met, says Bernard Drury, president and chief executive officer of hedge fund and alternative investment firm Drury Capital.
The cover art for Wings’ first album of 1973, Red Rose Speedway, was Paul McCartney’s most extravagant package since Beatles albums like Sgt. Paul McCartney & Wings – Red Rose Speedway (1973, cover photograph by Linda McCartney artwork by Eduardo Paolozzi) apparently standing for Linda, I Love You. In amongst the rainbow zig-zags, he’s added a message to his wife – the letters L.I.L.Y. RAM features a Linda McCartney portrait of Paul with a ram on their Scottish farm, while Paul has doodled a multi-colored, childlike frame with felt-tipped pens. However, the contents were far more polished, and featured session musicians as well as the McCartneys on what has come to be viewed as one of his best post-Beatles albums. If Paul McCartney’s eponymous debut of the previous year had a homemade quality to it, then RAM, the 1971 album by Paul & Linda McCartney, certainly had a homemade appearance. Paul & Linda McCartney – RAM (1971, photography by Linda McCartney artwork by Paul) The cherries, laid out on top of a wall, create a burst of color against the bleached wall, with the ground below reduced to a solid black. The picture is titled “Feeding the birds in Antigua, 1969,” and it’s a striking image full of contrast. The cover is another of Linda’s shots, this time of cherries laid out on a wall next to a bowl of cherry-red water. People simply had it all the wrong way around. In fact, many fans thought (and still think) that the back cover – which bears the name McCartney alongside a Linda McCartney portrait of her husband and their daughter, Mary, on the family’s Scottish farm – must be the album cover.īut no. Not only did Paul McCartney’s 1970 debut album, McCartney, carry with it a press release effectively announcing the end of the Beatles, but the album featured neither his image nor his name on the front cover. It was a bold way to launch a solo career. Paul McCartney – McCartney (1970, photography by Linda McCartney) |
